A veteran himself, Adrian served in the Royal Navy for 30 years as a Warfare Officer with the privilege to command three warships. He finished his time as Commander of British Forces in Gibraltar. He decided to leave the Navy in 2010 to work in the charity sector. He was Chief Executive of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust and joins Blind Veterans UK from his role as the Chief Executive of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).
Adrian Cojocaru’s career spans over 25 years of various HR roles and reflects a diverse experience base acquired across various industries, geographies and organisational set-ups. Adrian was the Managing Director in charge of the Human Resources function at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London and previously he held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer and a member of the Executive Committee at OC Oerlikon, a major Swiss global industrial group.
A retired Senior Air Traffic Engineering Manager with twenty years’ experience in management of teams, front line support and Systems Design of the air traffic control system. Chris’ experience also includes 20 years in the Royal Navy and working in the Laptop manufacturing sector. He has been involved in Schools and education for 26 years in the Gosport peninsular and was the chair of Governors of a local Secondary School. Chris has a firm belief that in working together we can improve the chances for all the learners on the Gosport and Fareham peninsular.
Originally trained as a product and industrial designer, before becoming a successful entrepreneur and the CEO of an award-winning design group. He is now recognised globally as a thought leader on strategic innovation and creating innovative organisations.
Geoff is currently the interim CEO; having been the Trust’s Director of Schools since 2021. He has spent more than 30 years in education – including a headship of one of the largest all-through schools in the UK. Previously, Geoff trained and served as an Ofsted Inspector. He is also a certified executive coach. His school improvement experience and senior leadership has included work with small, medium-sized and national Multi-Academy-Trusts.
For most of the 1970’s George worked as a senior lecturer in Computer Science at Portsmouth Polytechnic with overall responsibility for research into Computer Aided Learning. In the late 70’s he and his wife set up and managed a company to develop software for use in the control rooms of Emergency Services around the world. After selling this business to Capita PLC in 2012 he was appointed Managing Director of their Communications and Systems business before retiring in 2015.
Chair of Governors at a local Junior School and has a working background in medical research. She has 30 years of local volunteering experience in Gosport with 20 years experience in school governance (primary and secondary).
Registered Nurse, MSc Professional and Policy Studies. Ruth most recently worked as the Director of Nursing for NHS England,Wessex and latterly Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Thames Valley. In this capacity she led the quality team, and worked with commissioners and providers of health care to ensure and support improvement and strategic planning for quality care. Her responsibilities included ensuring that patient experience and NHS safeguarding duties were met across Wessex and Hampshire and Thames Valley.
